Fran Merida has been unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player.
The Spanish midfielder's contract with Arsenal expires this summer and, although he was offered a new and improved deal last August, the 20-year-old has opted to leave the Club.
Merida joined Arsenal in 2006 and rose through the ranks to challenge for a first-team place last season.
He made a total of 16 first-team appearances during his time with Arsenal, including eight appearances in all competitions in 2009/10 and scored twice - against Liverpool in the Carling Cup and Bolton in the Premier League.
